Living in a global pandemic has presented us all with many challenges and living with lockdown restrictions is hard. Yet lockdown has also brought us unexpected gifts, such as connecting with neighbours in ways we’ve been praying about for years and rediscovering that you can actually make phone calls on your mobile. One of the gifts of lockdown that I’ve appreciated is the ease with which we can connect with people who are thousands of miles away, and this week that is what we are going to do.

This Sunday Alan Scott, from Vineyard Anaheim in sunny California, will join us to share from God’s word and his experiences of leading a church that is calling their city to life. If you are expecting someone with an American West-Coast accent, then that’s not Alan as he’s a Glasgow born and bred lad, albeit time in North Ireland and now the States has modified his accent a little. Alan is a passionate, prophetic, and compelling reader and speaker of God’s word. In particular he has a huge heart for seeing the church impact the city and has seen God do some amazing things.

As we prepare for this Sunday and what Alan will bring, we would love for us all to be reflecting on the following questions:

  1. Where do you see God at work already in our city?
  2. What do you think God is saying to us just now?
