Pentecost Sunday
This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. Taken from the Greek word for fiftieth, Pentecost takes place on -yes, you’ve guessed it- the fiftieth day after Easter.
On Pentecost we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the power he gives to each follower of Jesus, whether old or young or somewhere inbetween, to live a life of witness and wonder.
Just like Jesus’ followers on that day on the first Pentecost, we will be all be meeting together in one place because this Sunday is an All-In service. -Hurray!
Join us to celebrate our children and young people as we head towards the end of another school year, share the story of that first Pentecost together and celebrate communion as all ages.
Messy Church, which takes place on Saturday 7 June from 2pm to 3.30pm in The Point, will also have a Pentecost focus. In the Bible the Holy Spirit is described in lots of different ways; the Helper, Comforter, Friend, Gift-giver and is seen symbolically as fire, water, wind. We will be using some of these descriptions as the basis for our activities. We’d love to see you there. Click on the link below to book.
