Sundays at Queen's Park Baptist

10:30am "Morning Service"

At the 10.30am service, everyone meets together in the main sanctuary and the format usually includes times of worship with all ages together, perhaps some prayers and stories about how God is relevant to our lives today and then a teaching time, usually given by one of the pastors here. Communion is taken in this service once a month.

The children and young people up to fourth year at secondary school usually leave the service with their leaders after about 20 minutes or so and meet in small groups around the building. P3 and under children need to be dropped off at their groups by their parent/guardian and collected at the end of the service. Ask one of the stewards or a fellow parent where your child's age group meets, or alternatively follow the crowd!

Under 3s can rest or play in a dedicated crèche room under the supervision of a small team – you can spot the helpers on duty by their red tabards! Please sign your child in on the Visitors’ Sheets outside the crèche. One of the helpers will fetch you if your child is unhappy or needs changed. The crèche is situated downstairs near the toilets.

The morning service usually finishes by 12 noon. Tea and coffee is served in the large hall after the service.

6:30pm "Evening Service"

The 6:30 service's format encourages longer times of dynamic worship and gives opportunity to respond to what God is saying and to receive prayer from our experienced prayer ministry team.

The 6:30pm service usually finishes around 8pm with tea and coffee provided at the end. Young people meet together for Jam’n in the crypt after the evening service from 8.30 – 10pm.

Visitors attend our services every week so you won't feel out of place and we'll try to make you welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there wheel chair and buggy access to the church? Yes, the church building is fully accessible. There is a ramped entrance into the main sanctuary and a stairlift that gives access to the hall. One of the stewards on duty at the front door will be pleased to help you. You are welcome to bring into the service with you a baby's buggy/pram or infant carseats as there is plenty of room beside the seats.

What if my baby or child is noisy during the service? Do not worry about this. If your children are unsettled then you are free to come in and out as necessary during the service. Many parents make use of the glass foyer, where you can still see and hear what is happening within the service. Some parents bring colouring books and crayons to help keep their children occupied during the 6:30pm service.

Is there somewhere I can breast-feed my baby/change my baby's nappy? Yes, there is a quieter “Mother and Baby” room for feeding/changing babies off of the crèche and changing facilities are available in the female and disabled toilets. Both of these can be found downstairs, just ask one of the stewards standing in the glass foyer if you are unsure where to go.

What should I wear to come to church? The answer is “whatever you would usually wear!” Wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Why do people have their hands in the air on that photograph? When you visit our services, you may see people putting their hands up in the air when they are singing songs or praying. This is a bit like football fans cheering and punching the air or holding their hands up in triumph if their team are doing well – it’s a way of expressing how great they think God is. The Bible tells us about lots of examples of people raising their hands when they pray or when they worship God using songs.
