About Queen's Park Baptist Church Welcome to Queens Park Baptist Church, we are a vibrant Christian community based in the heart of Glasgow’s south side. We come from many backgrounds, nations and parts of the city and are united in our passion to see people and places transformed by the love and power of God. We believe that following Jesus is a great adventure in which we each have a vital part to play. So together we seek to celebrate and share God’s generosity, to communicate the world changing story of Jesus and to impart the life of God’s Spirit. We choose to serve together, to live life and worship together and in God’s strength to embrace the outcast, to seek the lost, to minister to the poor and to love our city into relationship with Jesus Christ.

About Our Church We have been around since 1878 (though clearly none of us personally for that length of time!) and are part of the Baptist Union of Scotland – a network of 170 churches throughout the country. We actively partner with many other churches and organizations within the city and beyond as we seek to honour all who serve Christ. In a larger church like ours it’s essential for our spiritual development and equipping for service that we are engaged in meaningful relationships. So the church is made up of homegroup “cells” and we encourage everyone to connect into a group for encouragement, pastoral care and service. The church is led by a Core Leadership Team of ministry staff and team members elected by the church and we have many folks committed to serving in significant ministries in the life of the church and wider community. The church is characterized by an appetite for God’s presence in our worship and a desire to be real in our relationships with one another. We seek to be responsive both to the word of God and the Spirit of God and as a result integrate the use of spiritual gifts and inspiring contemporary preaching. We seek to be outward focused and innovative in mission both in our city and in sending people throughout the world.

Our Mission Our mission has three dimensions: 1. To help people FIND LIFE - through renewed relationship with God in Christ. The Upward Dimension 2. To help people GROW IN LIFE - through discipling, leadership development, fellowship, worship. The Inward Dimension 3. To help people SHARE LIFE - through community service, evangelism, overseas mission. The Outward Dimension Our Pledge for 2008 As a church we made the following commitment together at the start of this year: I pledge in partnership with QP family to serve the city with the love and life of Jesus in 2008 We seek to depend on his grace, obey His sovereign rule and trust in His future. We determine to be reverent towards God, realistic about ourselves and relevant to our world. We resolve to be real, take risks, offer hope, love justice, embrace the outcast, show kindness to the needy, and humbly seek to make a difference in this world. We aim to live and share the story of Jesus with all who will listen. We choose to serve together, play together, laugh and weep together and honour all who seek to serve Jesus.
