Well AV2 2010 is over, but what an eight days it was!
There are so many highlights from the past 8 days, hopefully I can do them justice here! ( Firstly sorry the updates stopped, basically 18 non stop hours a day took their toll and sleep took a higher priority!!)
Anyway I'm now back in Glasgow and about to start two weeks holiday, but before I go here is the overview of camp.
The week was an amazing success, we had 56 teenagers with us who were brilliant, they're appetite for fun, food and God was amazing to see. The team were also fantastic serving in amazing ways. The catering team was different class, the ATLs ran the programme smoothly and with great energy, the group leaders worked their socks off and finally as always it was brilliant to co lead with Jill again, she did an amazing job.
In terms of the fun and games of camp, we had one wet which changed things a wee bit but didn't stop us from having fun. The offside watersports were great, as was our landmark visit. Onsite the initiative games and mountain bike skills course were excellent and the waterslide was soaking wet fun. We also managed to launch a UFO in the form of a 25m solar balloon (basically a really long bin bag that when you fill with air and let the sun heat it up, it goes for a flight, or in our case what seemed like a rocket launch!!).
The meetings were amazing to be part of, the second last night 3/4 of camp responded to God and wanted prayer to be runners after Him. It was a priviledge to see young people so hungry.
The theme of the week was ' 'nothings going to hold us back' and as we released the young folk we just pray that they would not be held back in their pursuit of God.
The last night was epic, we had choreographed dances of brilliant quality, a celidh and some after hours.
Feedback from campers has been amazing, they all seem to have had a great time!!
I'm a bit tired now, so off for a cat nap!!
