A commitment to Christ
To be partner means to have submitted our lives to the life transforming rule of Jesus. This is expressed in the profession of Jesus Christ as “Lord and Saviour” demonstrated by baptism as a believer and in a commitment to work out through the scriptures how we might be authentic followers of Jesus in today’s world.
A commitment to Christ’s cause
To be a partner means to walk in common purpose with others, determined to extend the knowledge and reputation of Jesus locally and globally. This means partnering in worship, prayer and action believing that it is only by the active power of God the Holy Spirit and in the attitude of Christ’s love that we will have constructive impact in our world.
A commitment to Christ’s people
Partnership expresses our support towards one another; not only in theory but in practice. We believe that we need to express commitment to one another by conveying mutual acceptance and encouragement and contributing our spiritual gifts and natural skills to the support and development of genuine Christian community. We encourage all partners to be involved in active fellowship by means of one or more of the many groups that function in the life of the church.
1. That Jesus Christ is Head of the Church and we are His Body, therefore, we belong to one another and will be of mutual help and support to one another. We will seek at all times to do the Lord’s will in our own lives and in the affairs of the fellowship. (1 Cor 12: 14-20)
2. That it is part of our service to Christ and encouragement to others to attend as regularly as possible the meetings for public worship, and especially the Communion Service, the Church Business Meetings and the Home group meetings. (Heb 10: 24, 25)
3. That it is part of our Christian stewardship to return a proportion of our income to the Lord’s work through the church offering. We need to consider this seriously and prayerfully as responsible stewards and give as the Lord has prospered us. (1 Cor 16: 1, 2)
4. That we have each been given gifts to be used in the service of the Lord through His church. Be prepared to discover what your gifts are and try to get involved in some area of the church’s life.
5. That prayer is vital if anything is to be accomplished for the Lord. Pray regularly for the Pastors, Core Leaders and your fellow-members and the united witness of the fellowship.
At QP we hope to “Equip people for life” and this is worked out in our relationship to God, the Church and others. We want to see people connecting in these three areas and hope to enable this in what we do as a church.
Connected to God
We want to see people connect with God through Christ exalting worship, relevant biblical teaching and charismatic ministry.
Connected to Church
We believe that each member should be able to identify and use their gifts to the benefit of God’s kingdom. We aim to provide opportunities to work together in God’s service.
Connected with others
We want to see people enjoying significant relationships within the church through which they can find encouragement and support. Through homegroups, services, serving together and social events we hope that people will truly belong to the church family. We also believe that the body of the church is responsible for making decisions together and enable this through the church meeting.
We hope that membership will give a greater sense of belonging to God’s family and you will know the support of others. It may also give more opportunities in service and the opportunity to influence the vision of the church through the church meeting and discussion.
